Dr Mitchell is the lead partner for Pilning Surgery. He qualified at Bristol University in 1980 and then served for 6 years in the RAF. During this time he worked in UK, Hong Kong, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Nepal. Dr Mitchell joined Montpelier Health Centre as a partner in October 1986 and have since developed a special interest in skin problems which has led to the publication of several books for patients and medical colleagues. Outside work Dr Mitchell is a member of the Rotary Club of Clifton and work with a charity building schools and health centres in Nepal.

I joined Montpelier Health Centre in 2008 as a Pharmaceutical Advisor and have since expanded my role with various qualifications. I have a special interest in, and am now the Lead Clinician for Long Term Conditions (LTC) at the Health Centre. Aside from this I am one of the main points of contact for all medication and therapeutics related queries for all the other Clinicians working alongside me and help facilitate ICB and in-house Clinical audits.

I qualified as a pharmacist in 2011 from Cardiff University. I spent 5 years working as a community pharmacist in various pharmacies before joining general practice as part of an NHS England scheme and completing the training pathway for pharmacists in general practice as well as the independent prescribing course. I am from Wales and visit family there regularly. In my spare time i enjoy cooking, reading, cycling, and attending fitness classes. I work at Montpelier Health Centre 2 days a week – Tuesday and Thursday.

Our highly qualified nurse deals with a range of conditions and health concerns. The nursing team work alongside the doctors in the practice to provide specialist care to patients with conditions such as Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, Hypertension, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease, Epilepsy and Thyroid management. They offer services such as audiometry, ear syringing and ECGs. They are experienced in wound management, removing sutures and assisting in minor surgery. The nurses run contraception appointments in conjunction with the doctors. Support to Stop Smoking programme and other health promotion appointments, including a travel advice and vaccination service are also offered with the nursing team.
