It is important for people who have, or have had, high blood pressure, to have regular check-ups to have their blood pressure monitored.
High blood pressure (hypertension) rarely has noticeable symptoms, but if untreated, increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes. It is therefore important to have your blood pressure monitored regularly.
When booking for your diabetic review you will need 2 appointments:
- 1. The first appointment will be for a physical check, including checking your blood pressure and taking blood for testing. You will need to bring an early morning urine sample to this first appointment.
- 2. The second appointment will be with one of our hypertension specialists. You will be able to ask the Nurse any questions which you might have about your high blood pressure.
