WALK IN APPOINTMENT SERVICE

There is a walk in appointment service Monday to Friday.

Please arrive between 8.30m and 10am for a same morning appointment. These appointments are only available by booking in person during these hours. You will be advised of your appointment time and should you choose to sit and wait you will be given an estimated consultation time - you may however leave the surgery and arrive nearer your appoint time if you wish.

In offering this service we can guarantee that all patients will be seen by appointment with in 48 hours. This new service replaces the Open Surgery and complies with new government access targets.

Nurse Appointments

Nurse appointments are available daily fro 8.30am - 12 noon and from 3.00pm -6.00pm

Phlebotomy Appointments

If you require a blood test or blood pressure check please book with Maggie Gibbs, the nursing assistant. Appointments are available daily from 8.30am -12 noon.

telephone consultations

You may request a telephone consultation with a doctor. You are asked to call at 11.30am. If the receptionist cannot transfer your call to the doctor you may be asked to phone at an agreed time or alternatively you may be asked to leave a contact telephone number and the doctor or nurse will return your call.

If you are only available on a mobile phone, you will be expected to ring the practice at the agreed time.

SEEING THE DOCTOR

  • Urgent cases are seen on the day at open surgery. If your condition deteriorates and you have missed the open surgery please phone the reception desk for advice.

  • If your condition is non-urgent, you can expect to see a GP within two working days, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. Nurses based in our practice treat patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see a nurse within one working day.

  • Say immediately if your call is an emergency.

  • Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen. We can give you a longer appointment if necessary.

  • Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss any matters. Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.

You can help us by:

  • Being on time for your appointment

  • Letting us know if you need to cancel – please give as much notice as possible

  • Calling for a home visit or urgent appointment before 10am
