District Nurse
The district nurses are based at
Patchway Clinic.

is available to take your call you
may leave a message which will be
dealt with on their return. District
nurses provide nursing assistance to
those confined to their homes and
also offer advice on leg ulcers and
continence problems.
District Midwife
The midwifery team provide ant-natal
clinics at Pilning Surgery on
Wednesday mornings by appointment
and visit patients in their homes
both before and after delivery of
their babies. They also offer
antenatal and parent craft classes
in partnership with the health
visitor.

Health Visitor
Health Visitor Rosemary Taylor is
based at Patchway Clinic and can be
contacted by telephoning (0117) 969
2370.
Rosemary gives
healthcare advice particularly for
small children, expectant mothers,
the elderly and handicapped. She
also co-ordinates health promotion
and preventative programmes.
Pilning Community
Pharmacy
Pilning Community Pharmacy offers a full on site
pharmaceutical service.
Superintendent Pharmacist John Mc
Dowell leads an experienced team.
Tom Mavir (Pharmacist), Steve Wakely
(Pharmacy Manager) and Elaine Ware
(Dispensary Manager) are there to
dispense your prescriptions and give
advice about your medications and
minor ailments, without an
appointment. The team will shortly
move into a purpose built pharmacy
attached to the surgery offering a
whole range of over the counter
medicines and chemist stock.
Dietician
The dietician visits the surgery
monthly and sees patients referred
by the doctor for dietetic advice.
Her work is mainly with diabetics
but she is able to support the
doctors in advising patients with
particular dietary needs.
Optometrist
The Optometrist visits to check on
the vision, eye care and health of
young children. These appointments
are made via the Health Visitor
Rosemary Taylor.
